Chuck Mangione

Chuck Mangione was an American flugelhorn player, trumpeter and composer, born and raised in Rochester, New York. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, he came to prominence as a member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers in the 1960s, and later co-led the Jazz Brothers with his brother, Gap Mangione.  International success followed in 1978 with the release of his jazz-pop single "Feels So Good", which reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, a rare achievement for a completely instrumental record. He released more than 30 albums, beginning in the 1960s. With his band, he toured the world tirelessly, developing an international fan base that was particularly strong in Japan and Europe. He also appeared in various television shows, including a recurring role on King of the Hill. Chuck Mangione died on July 22, 2025.
